Printing is often the worst of many problems with Terminal Services and Citrix, so many subsystems interconnecting, things are bound to go wrong from time to time, i will try in this post to gather a few of the printing issues i have encountered and my solutions for the problems.
“Default Printer not Mapped Properly within an ICA Session”
Symptoms: Running a Windows 2003 Server with Presentation Server 3.0 i encountered issues with users not being able to set deault printers, and printing acting wierd all together.
Tech Pages i came across:
“Default Printer not Mapped Properly within an ICA Session” – Citrix KB
“Error: Cannot set client printer as default or a default printer cannot be enabled” – Citrix KB
My solution:
In many of the cases i have encountered the problem, it has been founded in missing a missing registry key as mentioned in CTX104375. My solution in cases where it is only affecting a few users has simply been to make a reg-hack to create the key for the user and let the user log off and back on. Functionality has been returned and the user can continue his/or her work.
