So ofcourse Citrix is taking it to the limit. Launching XenApp 5.0 virtually with what appears to be a humongous webevent. Streaming Video, and audio, chat with presenters seems to be the future.

I ofcourse registered and i am looking forward to see how this goes off, but i must admit it is a bit empty for me. Half the benefit from these launches for me has always been to hear whats new, talk to the presenters, and talk to colleagues in the business, customers and other vendors, hearing their take on the new aspects of whatever product is being launched.

I think its great that even more people will be able to attend the launch but i think it is a bit of a shame to sacrifice part of the social/cultural aspect of this kind of event.

But.. 9/9-08 will show of is this is the new way, or just an example of what can be done
