So the Web administration of XenServer with Delegated administration.. sort of.. is here
One thing i think we are all looking forward to is the Delegated administration in XenCenter. However we have to be patient a bit longer for that. But if you are willing to use a WebXenCenter administration interface the feature is here now.
“WebXenCenter” can be downloaded as a Virtual Appliance for XenServer. The installation is easy and well described. The Web-Based Console for XenServer is part of the XenServer resource kit and can be found here: http://community.citrix.com/display/xs/XenServer+Resource+Kit
Joel Stocker blogged about the new feature and published these screenshots, and as for the “how to install” it really is that simple. I am still wrestling with some sort of login-error but i am pretty sure i will get that sorted. You can read Joel’s blog post here: http://community.citrix.com/blogs/citrite/joels/2009/01/20/Introducing….Citrix+XenCenterWeb
This is how it should appear if you are better at setting it up than i was in first try
.
Another part of the XenServer resource kit is the v2xva tool which will convert virtual windows machines installed on VMware to the XenServer virtual Appliance format.
I will be doing a post on Virtual Machine conversion between the relevant platforms whenever i get time to finish it.
