Yay! Citrix Receiver for Windows and Merchandising server 1.1 is here!

CitrixReciever A while back Citrix announced and released their a way for Citrix customers to distribute and manage the needed clients in the infrastructure. I personally love the idea, and think it is a great initiative, however version 1.0 was a bit limited, so i was thrilled to receive an email from Aaron Videtto, Product Manager, telling us that version 1.1 has been released.

There are a lot of really cool features in the new release i cant wait to test them out:image

One feature i am really missing is pass-through, for many customers it is not really acceptable to have the users type in username and password more than once, and i guess implementing Password Manager to solve this is not really an option ;-)

With the new release of the Receiver for windows the supported list of plug-ins has also grown:image

I hope to find time to write a full hands-on review after i get back from Florida, but for now it is available from the download-section of MyCitrix. You can find it here: https://www.citrix.com/English/ss/downloads/results.asp?productID=1689163 (You need to log in to MyCitrix)

Will do a hands-on review at first possible opportunity.

    That’s right, version 1.1 is out and we are confident that it will help you accomplish a number of things:

    - Bring down your desktop support costs
    - Help ease your win 7 rollouts
    - Allow you to easily manage Citrix components on both managed, and unmanaged (Bring your own Computer) machines.
